Stock bundles
« on: August 09, 2020, 11:45:00 PM »
Just finding out if someone has worked out how to do following: Many supermarkets have what they call bundles. e.g. They sell 3kg bag Potatoes, 3kg bag onions, 3 kg bag carrots combined for lets say R60.00 but if sold seperately will cost say R33 each. This part is easy as these items are stock items and this bundle can be setup under BOM.

The complication comes in when the Supermarket tries to please its customers and they have someone who wants Potatoes, Carrots BUT Beetroot instead of Onions.

Most are not worried if there is a small loss but are more interested in getting the client to spend. Any suggestions. Many thanks.

Reminds me of the OLD joke about a lady that walked into a Supermarket & asked for half a pumpkin. The floor assistant replied that they don't sell half of a pumpkin but the lady insisted...

So, the assistant went to the manager's office & told the manager that there is a horrible woman that insists on half a pumpkin and when he turned around, the lady was standing behind him...

So he responded by saying - "And this lovely lady would like the other half..."

We need to work on a "swop" or substitute option..

Similar to when the customer chooses to substitute bacon for macon in a pizza store or pineapple for avo as an example...

In a restaurant - Touch screen setup we would typically have a swop button that will link like items...

Eg Veg for veg & meat for Meat...

Cant swop Ham for Prawns for instance...
