In the next few days we will be developing a VAT utility to increase all your "Price Override" items - that is items that has a Override price on the system with 1%

This utility will only run on the SQL version of 4POS - version ....

We will cater for the normal rounding rules on the utility eg. Round items to the closest 10c etc.

More info to follow soon....

Our new 4POS installer - allows an upgrade from ANY 4POS version.

Simply download & install the NEW installeer on the original server pc & it will convert your database from the old to the new automatically.

If you are using a NEW server pc - one that doesn't have a 4POS installed previously :

1. Download & install the new CD4POS.
2. Ensure 4POSBackoffice opens up as normal - click on register later.
3. Create a folder c:\4possupport\mdb
4. Copy ALL your old MDB files to that folder. (Including the month files!)
5. Open the 4POSBackoffice.exe again - it will now convert the old mdb files to the MsSql database.
6. Once completed, Open the 4POSBackoffice & enjoy...

In South Africa you would need to change the VAT % to 15% on the 1st of April 2018.

Coincidence that it is April Fool's day?

Follow the steps as explained here. If, of course you are using the clever 4POS matrix pricing, that is all you would need to do & then run an update...

If however, you are not.... You would need to change all your pricing manually as you will now be paying 15% of turnover & not the 14% you used to calculate the selling prices....

Take care as it is R1,000 out of every R100,000 that you can lose!

We are having a couple of customers selling liquor tots & Full bottles in their businesses.

As customer explained it - he has a "Liquor Restaurant"

They offer the customer the ability to buy full bottles or Tots.

We suggested they start with the Liquor Store Database as most of the products are preloaded.

That takes care of the shrinks - bottles & cases (1 x 12)

Now, what to do with the tots?

Quite simple actually....

Create a 2nd item for eg. Bells (Tots)

You can even have a shrink for singles & doubles : (1 x 2)

Now take it one step further & create a Bill of Material (BOM) from the tot to the bottle item :

Bells (tots)

Item : Bells 750ml : Quantity : 0.03333 (Calculated by 1 bottle divided by 30 tots)

So, when you sell a tot, it will automatically deduct 1 tot from Bells & show your bells stock as 15.667 (15 full bottles & .9667 of a bottle)
