For the customers battling with their 4POS printers :

A couple of things to check please:

1. Are you using Thermal paper? (Quick way to check is to scratch the paper with your nail – it should leave a black mark)
2. Also if the paper comes out but blank - your paper is upside down... The paper will feed from the bottom of the roll.
3. Does the paper feed when you press the feed button?
4. Is the lid properly closed? If not – Open the lid & press closed firmly – Don’t smash it….
5. Do a printer self-test : Switch the printer off. Hold the Feed button & switch the printer on while holding the feed button. Release the feed button – it should print a self-test. If this works – switch the printer off & try again from Windows.
6. Lastly – remember that Windows does not automatically detect the USB port you are using. Go into the printer properties & ensure the port is set to “Virtual printer port” – If there is more than one – try the others.

Worst case scenario – use our voice prompts on 010-500-4176 - option 1 (Support options).

Windows 10 - what have they done now???

Lots of issues with the Windows 10 upgrades that happened in the last couple of days!

1. Suddenly network cards dont work anymore
2. VGA drivers that make 4POS screens not display...
3. 80mm Printer drivers suddenly not recognised!

Well, at least we have a solution for the 58mm & 80mm Thermal printer now...

New driver for Windows 7, 8 & 10 uploaded.

Again - not the upgrade....

In 4POSScan - Ctrl-c - check your printer configuration & also, what should print to A4

In 4POSTouch - Option menu - Ctrl-c - check your printer configuration & also, what should print to A4

The width must be set to 72, margins set at 0 & graphics on.

Anyone know how to reliably get the 4Pos 58mm Thermal Receipt Printer and the 4POS 60mm Thermal Barcode Printer (Model 8880010060100) to work together? Both from Makro.

I have 4 stores currently running 4POS, each with one terminal running Windows 10. These are all identical machines.

Store 1:
Can print receipts to the receipts printer, and labels to the label printer, so all OK.

Store 2:
Every time power fails (like load shedding), when PC back on, receipts come out the label printer (as junk though), and labels out the receipt printer. I then have to swop the ports around in printer properties.

Store 3:
Cannot get both working at the same time, despite repeated uninstalling and re-installing printers. Once second printer installed, it will only print to the barcode printer.

I have tried so many times with stores 2 and 3, swapping physical ports, different drivers from the 4POS media, to no avail.
Drivers installed from :
Receipt printer : DVD4POS\Drivers and Utils\4POS58mmPrinterDrivers\4POS58mmDriver.exe
Barcode : \DVD4POS\Drivers and Utils\4POSLabelPrinterDrivers\4POSLabelPdriver\4POSLabelPdriver.exe

Store 4 sometimes has problem as store 2, but mostly it's fine like store 1.

Can anyone help?

Hi

Most likely a Windows issue.

Are you running the same Windows on all PC's?

As we all know, some Windows versions sometimes "lose" a printer, sometimes messes up the ports.

Personally we are using Win10 & have found it to be very stable.

Question from a user :

Good Day!

I have over the weekend bought me the drawer that connects to the 4pos printer.
I have connected the drawer, but as soon as I process the order in 4postouch (Before I process the transaction) the drawer already pops open.
When I punch in the cash received to process the transaction it again pops open, so it pops open twice on one order transaction.
Can you please advise and help that it only pops open once we receive the customer till slip?

Also, how can I make the printer not make that beeping noise when it prints out?

Hi

Attached is 2 pics to assist...

Simply set the printer to have "No Drawer attached"

This means the printer will not open the drawer, instead 4POS will open the drawer....

This will stop this "Double" opening of the drawer...
