Title: I have an error on my printer / cash drawer - what can I check for?
Post by: Admin on January 10, 2011, 07:46:44 PM
Normally your cash drawer will be connected to the receipt printer. If the printer doesn't work, neither will the cash drawer.

1. Ensure the printer has power. & no error lights are showing.
2. From Windows - do a test page - Start - settings - printers & faxes. Right-click on the receipt printer & select properties. Click on test page. If the test page prints - check in 4POS if the printer has been configured properly. (Ctrl-C - option3)
3. If the printer doesn't print - check the cables from the printer to the PC - often they are disconnected. Re-connect & test.
4. If the printer is plugged in - ensure it is the right port eg. USB2 & not USB1.
5. Also do a printer self-test - Switch the printer off. Hold down the FEED button on the printer & while holding it down - switch on the printer. A test page should be printed. If not, you may have a physical error on the printer. Please have a technician check it out.

How do you load a printer on 4Pos?  We are able to print a test page and all cables are connected.  The program however states no printer installed.

Good Day Mr.Brink
Please go and have a look at this link showing us how to set up a slip printer: www.4pos.co.za/Training/4POSSetupPrinter.htm

If the video doesn't work for some strange reason then here is your answer:
If windows can print a test page to the slip printer (or any other printer for that fact) then the 4POS Software can print to it too!
Simply open your 4POSscan software, login ,push CTRL + C on your keyboard.(4POSTouch :log in, click OPTION MENU, then push CTRL +C). in the configuration window look under option 3.POS Reciept Printer Parameters, Printer name: Click the drop down and select your slip printers name. put a tick in the " Print Graphics option and the EXIT at the bottom right, do a test sale and violah! Sorted!

Hope this Helped
