Title: importing Stock codes
Post by: Douglas on February 14, 2013, 10:09:59 AM
Hi, hoping someone can provide some information. I recently bought the 4Pos system. I use it in standard retail mode as I own a pet shop. I Know how to get the .csv file to import my stock codes, descriptions and costs. However is there any way to insert qty of items as an opening stock qty. I know you can adjust values in stock take and so fourth however doing this reflects as shrinkage on the reports. I see it workd to create an order then GRV then post the payment to my Debtors. But wow its tons of work this way round as I have lots of different suppliers and hundreds of different items. If someone knows of a simpler way to insert my actual current stock quantity without reflecting as stock shrinkage on the reports, he or she would really make my day.

Quite simple actually to import stock.

1. If it is a purchase - import GRV
2. If it is a stock-take - Utilities - import stock take & then stock take - stock adjustments - Click on Handheld... & check - exit to update.
3. If it is stock from a physical stock take - stock take - import stock adjustments...

Still the best POS software out there!
