Title: 4POSBackup on Win7 & Win8
Post by: Admin on June 03, 2014, 10:03:13 AM
From time to time we have customers stating that their 4POSBackup does not run on Win7 or Win8.

The issue is that 4POSBackup creates a folder for the backups & the USER under which you are running might not have the proper permissions.

We suggest you do the following :

Go to the c:\4POS folder using "My computer" or Windows Explorer.

1. Right click on c:\4POS\4POSBackup.exe & go to properties. Under compatibility, click on “Run as Administrator”

Do the same for 4POSScan.exe, 4POSOffice.exe, 4POSBackoffice.exe (64 bit) & 4POSTOUCH.exe

Unfortunately we cannot change these properties when doing the 4POS installation.

This issue also relates to doing a monthend as 4POS will do a backup before the monthend process is started!

The same problem happens when you want to set up your printers in 4POS Point of Sale or 4POS Touch.

If you are not running the 4POS as administrator - it does not save your printer settings.

Once you make the changes explained - your printer settings can be written to the Windows registry & thus saved!
