Title: BackOffice 64b and POS terminals 32b
Post by: steenkampc on September 12, 2016, 07:04:27 PM
Hello,
My BackOffice is a Windows 10 64b PC, and my POS terminal is a 32b Windows 7 PC.
When selecting the data base on the terminal by running 4POSOffice.exe I continually get the message "The new datasource has been configured into the application suite. Please restart the application".  Can anyone please assit, as I need to get this up and running urgently.
DO I need to be licensed to add POS terminals?

Your issue relates more to the fact that 4POS cannot "write" to the database.

Check your windows sharing on the "server" / backoffice

1. Sharing
2. Security
3. Guest account on
4. Advanced network settings.

Still the easiest way to check your network :

1. From the workstation - go to windows explorer
2. Browse the network to the server pc.
3. Open the C drive on the server
4. Open 4POSServer folder
5. Right click & create new text file
6. Type any text & save the file as any name (Eg.Test)

If any of the above does not work, 4POS would not be able to access the files & folders either.

If all else fails - negotiate with any of the dealers to log in & assist. (Negotiate prices first!)
