Title: Deposits
Post by: salim786 on December 14, 2016, 02:36:07 PM
Hi,

i have seen the video on 4pos deposits. all it shows is how to create a deposit item and call it up on 4posscan.
i have read the manual as well and its the same.

I have created a deposit item successfully and am able to ring it up at the till.  I also figured out that to see the number of deposit items like empty bottles and crates, we have to go to the stock take menu and print Current Deposit Value.

My confusion lies in the GRV and the stock item price.  When im trying to process the GRV,

when i put in 1 unit, the grv adds in the cost of a crate and the cost of one item
And if i put in 2 units, then it adds in the cost of 2 crates and the cost of 2 items.
The result is that the grv total is much more.

shouldnt it still be 1 case and the cost of however many items. Im not sure if im reading th grv screen correctly but that is how i see it.

If i process the grv it brings the empty crates and bottles into the deposit item stock just fine, but the grv totals is way off.

Also the stock item price shows a negative gp and markup because its including the cost of a crate and a single empty bottle into a single item

please assist or help me understand how to track crates and empty bottles.

The important part is to remember that 4POS was developed for all parts of deposits.

In other words, a product in 4POS will consist of the content (liquid) & the container (deposit).

So, every product that has a deposit will be linked to the deposit of the item.

Eg if you had to look at a 1 Litre Coca Cola, the deposit will be something like Cold drink 1L - 12 bottles in the crate. The price of the container will be eg, 80c (Glass) & the crate in which the bottles come may be R9.00

So the cost price of the item will be calculated for the glass & the liquid in the glass. The case (Shrink of 12) will be for the crate, the 12 glass containers & the liquid of these 12 items.

The selling price will therefore be for the total of these.

You will furthermore link this deposit to the supplier under suppliers / creditors.

Now, when you do a GRV,

You will then purchase the liquid part & then the deposit (glass & crate - full).

Once the deposit is linked to this supplier, 2 additional screens will come up than normal - a screen for deposits purchased & also for deposits returned to the supplier!

This makes up a perfect invoice!
