4POS FAQ's / Re: How to set up your Pizza shop with 4POS
« Last post by Admin on January 20, 2021, 10:08:38 AM »
Speed on ringing up the item is critical…

So I normally set up – on the main menu –
Small Pizza
Medium Pizza
Large Pizza

Then on each “Page” set up all the small / med / large pizzas or if you don’t have a BIG selection – all on 1 page.

Now you can sell…

Then – on the small Pizza screen – a button for No’s & Extras – this will be linked to stock items to work out your stock better… BUT no price on the No’s..

Same for Med & Large…

Similar concept for Swops – Eg. An item that will say no Seafood – linked to cooking message for all the seafood items & once selected it will then bring up the “Swop to” page for other seafood or all items…

Eg. No Seafood – possible options : Prawns, calamari, mussels & then swop for : prawns, calamari, mussels, steak, ribs, avo, etc etc

This way a customer can order a prawn pizza & swop for a calamari pizza…

It takes time, but once configured – it works well & you wont loose money…

Then w.r.t. Bill of Materials – do the BOM for a Small Margherita then Small Hawaiian has 1 x Small Margherita plus ham plus pineapple… Medium would be 1.5 of small & large 2 x small (In other words – you only do the full breakdown of a small margherita…

You can also add the small / medium / large boxes in or create an item for small prep item which will have a BOM of the box, serviette etc.

Hope this makes sense…

4POS FAQ's / How to set up your Pizza shop with 4POS
« Last post by Admin on January 20, 2021, 10:07:49 AM »
Question from a customer :

I have recently bought the 4POS system for my PIZZA takeaway shop.

I am busy setting up, but was wondering what whould be the best way.

The shop has 4 x sizes of pizza (in other words 4 products) and 4 other products.  There are 42 x  pizzas (recipes) and the other products have each 5 recipes.  We have extras, about 25 items.  Sometimes the customer wants to swop, or take-off from existing recipes.
Can you perhaps give me a guideline how to set-up?

My idea was to select size of pizza or other (product) first. Then select recipe, then extras, swops and lastly take-offs.

How will I proceed to do that?  Must I list each size and recipe under stock or have various lists that pop-up with the prior selection.  Example, cash sale, select “medium”, then Hawaiin, then extra feta.

How do you change your default printer to an A4 printer?

Go into your Windows control panel.

Easiest on win10 is to click on your Window logo bottom left & type in CONTROL

In the control panel - select display as small icons & then devices & printers (As Attached)

In the devices & printers - right click on any A4 printer & select "Set as Default"

As with 4POS, you can simply save your logo as C:\4LODGE\4LODGELOGO.BMP

This logo will print on all customer docs eg. Check in report, Invoices etc.

4POS FAQ's / 4POSTouch in a take-away
« Last post by Admin on November 25, 2020, 10:41:39 PM »
Might be obvious to some but you can configure 4POSTouch to print the word "Order" on the invoice rather than "Table".

When entering the font size, ensure that it is entered in decimals... Eg 12.00 will be entered as 1200

If it is entered as 12 it will show / save 0.12 & not print anything...

4POS FAQ's / Re: I cannot do a cashup - "You currentlly have open transactions"

And another example in a supermarket with a Take-away...

1. Use 4POSTouch for the ease of use in the Take-away. (See attached config)
2. Do "Cash Sales" - select the items & click on Finish when done with the customer order = NOT cashout. This will produce the same saved sale that can be retrieved by the 4POS scan systems.

The same concept is used by some of our customer to deal with large amounts of cash received in coins or small change.

They would then ring up a "Deposit" with negative value & save the sale.

This is a Credit which the customer can then redeem when he / she has done their purchases.

The reverse is also true if you wish to only sell at your sales counters & then only receive cash at your central cashier....

Old features improved on in Version 20.11

When you use this functionality in a Liquor store environment :

Eg. You have a seperate pc running 4POS in your empties / deposits area. You would then be able to configure 4POSScan to

1. "Save voucher at server" as attached...
2. 4POSScan will print a voucher with a barcode that can be scanned to retrieve the saved sale. (Attached)
3. This voucher can then be retrieved from any PC (Remember that ALL POS pc's should be configured to : "Save voucher at server") by simply scanning the barcode...
