I think it will be great if the system could generate a change voucher that can be used when the client comes again..which is generated by the system and can be used any day or time and its recorded in the system

Yes I have had that request also from a few customers.  Alot of cash and carry's and supermarkets use it.  They have alot of customers who bring lots of coins from tuck shops or just savings or whatever.  They count the change seperately and give them a written slip.
If the system can generate a change voucher with a barcode based on the figure that the user enters so that the cashier can simply maybe click on or select the change voucher menu and scan the barcode and the figure goes into the amount tendered column and finishes the sale.

Also alot of supermarket and shops are getting into the grant payout system.  They make alot of money from it.  They have terminals that download the monthly grant on the customers grant card and they then have to buy for a minimum amount from the shop and they give them the cash as change.

Example - If i get R1000 grant every month.  i go to XYZ Supermarket and they download R1000 onto my grant card.  I then buy for R100 from their shop and go to the till.  They ring up the sale as normal but in the amount tendered they enter the R1000 which is the amount of my grant.  I then get R900 cash back from them.

Almost every supermarket is getting into this grant payout system.

I feel that the change voucher feature and the grant system can be combined.  All the customer needs is a virtual cash voucher that can be scanned at the till.  The voucher should be traceble and searchable from the back office or the front end and a reprint option should be available.  Users should be able to create voucher categories and every new voucher generated should be allocated to a category so users can search and filter reports e.g. if the user wants to view only grant vouchers, or only general change vouchers or maybe even only gift vouchers.

I have seen other software with this feature like Unisolv. It is a big selling point for supermarkets and shops and cash and carry's.

FYI - 4POS has had this feature for the last 3 years!!! Maybe just a lack of product info?

We have many customers that have hawkers come to the Change counter, present their coins, & then receive a voucher with a barcode on. They are then welcome to shop, & at the POS, present the voucher which is simply scanned & handled as a Credit on their purchase!

The opposite is also available on a take-away section where take aways are rung up, the customer could then browse & purchase more goods & then, once done, go to the POS to finalise it all.

I think the question started with that the dealer was asking if, rather than paying out change, a voucher could be issued.

I don't really think this is practical as I would not neccessarily overtender R100 or more simply to get a voucher - I would rather keep the cash in my pocket. So the question is - how much would be acceptable to offer as a voucher - a couple of cents?
