Cash Drawer and Printer error
« on: April 07, 2015, 12:15:10 PM »
Good day,

I installed the demo on my computer. I have also installed my printer Epson TM T-20 M249A.
I have set up a couple of items to scan and that works perfectly. I have even added a logo to the receipt.

The first transaction I scan and then complete, putting in tender and payment via cash or card.
The first transaction goes through perfectly, printing the receipt with all the detail and opening the cash drawer.

If I then do another transaction, the printer prints out only the logo, or sometimes nothing at all, cutting the paper in 1.5cm strips.
The cash drawer then opens numerous times. And every time it opens another piece of paper strips comes out with nothing on it.

I have uninstalled the printer and re-installed it. I got the drivers online from your site.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. I need to get this up and running so that I can decide whether I want to stay with my current POS system, or to go over to 4POS. I only have a small gap until I have to renew my licence.

The problem is your printer configuration.

Right-click on the printer & go into config.

1. Ensure the paper size is correct.
2. Ensure the cash drawer is disabled as it will try to open the drawer every time it prints - bad for security!
3. Ensure that in 4POS you do not select "printer has guillotine". The printer will automatically cut after printing & not every 1.5cms.

Hi.

Thanks so much. The printer and cash drawer is now working.
There is only one problem now. The receipt prints perfectly, but the paper pushes on leaving a large blank space (about 15cm) before it gets cut off.
How do I rectify this?

Again your printer...

The correct way is to load the proper driver which will manage the paper settings.

Alternatively, set the paper size to tabloid. This will then stop when done printing.
