Need some help

Hi,

I have purchased 4pos for a retail store selling nuts & sweets etc.
I just need a bit of guidance on listing my products. This is what I need to do:
I purchase from supplier in bulk per case, their case size varies, from 1kg to 25kg
I will be selling repackaged stock, i.e in 100g or 200g packs and also wholesale in kg

Lets say I order 1 x 25kg Almonds, and I would like to sell it in 100g packs and wholesale in kg - how would I list it?

What I've done so far, is I have listed Almonds P/kg - I then list Almonds 100g and create a bill of materials linked to Almonds P/kg - is this correct or is there a better way?

Also, when creating a purchase order, I see that Almonds P/kg appears under the supplier - but when I order 1, it only orders 1 x Almonds P/kg ( 1kg) but the pack size is 11.34kg - is there a different way of listing it so that in the purchase order, I can only order 1 and then it will automatically order 1 x 11.34kg?

Sorry for rambling, but I'm under a bit of pressure

Clever Question - sure the answer will help many other customers!

To use your example :

It is important to specify the purchase Quantity (Or weight). In your example, you say you buy in 25kg. Lets assume this is always the case.

I will set up 1 item : Almonds
Supplier quantity = 250 (In packs of 100g)
Supplier cost = Price you pay excluding vat for the 25kg.

Shrinks : create a shrink for 1 x 2 x 10 (100g, 200g, 1kg)

When you now do a GRV, the system will know a "Pack" consists of 250 x 100g. If you do however, purchase a quantity other than 25kg, eg 11.5kg, you will select "Build / Break Pack" & enter 115 as the quantity!

Brilliant way of handling the item.

Even when you then do a stock check - simply weigh the items & divide by 100 to give you a stock quantity & the value!

PS. This also works for Fruit & Veg!

No wonder we sell over 250 systems per month!
