Adding new products to 4Liquor

Client has experienced problem where a product say Bells 750ml when scanned displays 'Item does not exist in database'
It would seem that some products even though the same product have a different Bar Code.
Can these items be added by the client or does this have to be done by 4POS.
The codes used in the bar are the ones taken from the bottle.
